On October 29th and 30th, Utsunomiya City will host Gyu-No Fes – a FREE celebration of sports, food culture and of course music! It’s also the celebration of the 10th anniversary of the opening of Orion Square. Here, we’re mostly concerned about the music, of course, and the starting lineup is looking strong! Here’s who you’ll be able to see. Most of these groups have connections to Tochigi prefecture.
Maneki Kecha
With a #1 Oricon Daily Ranking this year, and fresh from their 3 hour live at Zepp Tokyo, Maneki Kecha are certainly flying high. They have a Yoyogi Park live coming up on the 31st of August, too!
Tochiotome 25
A local group from Tochigi. Founded in 2010, they are pushing to promote the local produce of Tochigi prefecture. “Tochiotome” is the name of a strawberry grown locally in the prefecture, while the “25” comes from the summer type of the strawberry. So, of course, this group is a natural fit for this festival.
Faint Star
Releasing their fourth single “Never Ever” in April this year, this Tokyo-based duo formed in 2013.
STARMARIE
The five member goth-loli group who focus mainly on fantasy themes, formed in 2008 – and have undergone a number of line-up changes. They have had a strong outing this year, with a sold out live in February and providing the theme song for the anime “Onigiri”.
Maboroshi Karen GENE
In addition to the above, BELLRING Girls Heart, GANG PARADE, Lyrical School, Stereo Tokyo, Rhymeberry and Watarasebashi 43, and Prism Bell are scheduled to appear. More announcements shoulb be made soon, so we’ll be sure to keep you updated.
